WEST MALAYSIA TOURS
West Malaysia
Birding in West Malaysia is a rich and rewarding experience, with a wide range of habitats supporting over 790 species of birds. From ancient lowland rainforests to highland cloud forests, mangroves, wetlands, and coastal areas, each ecosystem offers something unique. The central mountain spine is home to endemics like the Malayan whistling-thrush, Mountain peacock-pheasant, and Fire-tufted barbet, while the lowlands echo with the calls of broadbills, pittas, and trogons. Key locations like Fraser’s Hill, Taman Negara, and the Kuala Selangor Nature Park are well-established birding hotspots, offering excellent access to both forest and wetland species.
